La Noir De: Black Girl

Ousmane Sembene places his lens in the midst of a journey between post-colonial Senegal and hired help Diouana's idealistic France.  While desperately looking for work, Diouana is selected from a cadre of curbside women looking to be hired by the wealthy rich Europeans who still hold the cream of the countries crop.  Once hired she accompanies her new employers to their home in Paris to live where she discovers the nightmare of the alluring long dreamed about life in Paris, France.
